CONTEST FINALIST

CAIRO, Ill. -- Joe Crain, a Cairo native, was one of six finalists in the Gavin Media Professionals smaller markets "Music Director of the Year" competition at San Francisco recently.

Crain, the music director and assistant program director for WIXX-FM, Green Bay, Wis., is the son of Bill and Sharon Crain of Cairo.

The younger Crain is a graduate of Cairo High School and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

Before joining WIXX, Crain had worked with WKRO in Cairo and WTBX in Hibbing/Duluth, Minn.
