LADUE, Mo. -- A construction worker is recovering after being trapped following a chimney collapse in suburban St. Louis.
The man had serious injuries but was able to talk after the accident Wednesday in Ladue.
A portion of a chimney fell as a home was being demolished. The man was trapped inside an excavator after bricks, cinder blocks and other debris fell onto the construction equipment. It took rescuers more than two hours to free him.
More than a dozen firefighters and a physician who specializes in care for victims of structural collapses aided in the rescue.
