Johnny Ray Conklin of Cape Girardeau has been named executive secretary of the Missouri State Council of Carpenters.
Conklin was named at the state convention recently held at Jefferson City. He succeeds H. Keith Humphrey, who retired last month after 19 years as executive secretary.
Conklin was executive secretary-treasurer of the Southeast Missouri District Council of Carpenters for 18 years.
Other delegates who attended the convention from Carpenters Local 1770 in Cape Girardeau were Ralph Heisserer, Ronald Hahs, Kenneth Kidd and Richard Hinkebein.
The Missouri State Council of Carpenters is an affiliate of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, AFL-CIO.
More than 110 delegates attended the convention, including Dean Sooter of Washington, D.C.
