There was one key vote and three roll call votes in the House last week; the Senate held no votes, as Congress was in recess for most of the week. The House and Senate will reconvene this week.
HOUSE VOTE
DEPRECIATION ALLOWANCE FOR BUSINESSES: The House passed the America's Small Business Tax Relief Act (H.R. 636), sponsored by Rep. Patrick J. Tiberi, R-Ohio. The bill would make permanent, and index for inflation, the $500,000 depreciation allowance for businesses purchasing depreciable assets, software, and qualified land. The vote, on Feb. 13, was 272 yeas to 142 nays.
