Conference to aid farmers

SIKESTON, Mo. -- A number of speakers, including USDA rural development director Greg Branum, Ron Steinmetz from Bootheel Counseling Services in Sikeston and Dr. John Stormer, author of "Death of a Nation," will address the 12th annual Rural Restoration Conference at the Best Western Coach House in Sikeston Friday through Sunday.

Other speakers for the weekend include Richard Wheeler, owner/manager of WJLY Radio in Ramsey, Ill., and panels featuring State Rep. Peter Myers Sr., the Rev. Nick Robertson, Dean Cernek, Joyce Abney and Ray Fowler.

The conference is held annually to provide farmers with marketing and spiritual help during farming's stressful times.
