Tobacco control issues

teleconference topic

St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau is among about two dozen sites in Missouri that will host an interactive teleconference on Missouri's tobacco control policies later this spring.

The teleconference, titled "Missouri Policy Advocacy Training for Tobacco Control," will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 1 in the St. Francis Health and Education Centre. There is no charge to attend the teleconference, which is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Health in cooperation with ASSIST, a partnership for tobacco control, and the American Cancer Society.

The conference is designed to establish and reinforce local efforts to promote the creation and enforcement of tobacco-control policies, especially those involving sale of tobacco products to minors.

For more information call ASSIST at 876-3230, or St. Francis at 339-6107.
