POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Ricky Van Shelton will return to the Black River Coliseum Wednesday following his crowd-pleasing performance there last May.
Shelton will be the featured performer for Missouri State Troopers Association's semiannual music show. Ashley Dart will be a special guest.
Shelton won the Country Music Association's Male Vocalist of the Year award in 1989.
Dart, 18, from Southern Illinois, has been compared to Martina McBride, Shania Twain and Patsy Cline.
MOSTA membership is made up of state troopers, and the music shows raise funds for programs that benefit troopers.
"The association has been in existence for about 15 years," said Sgt. Brent Davis with the Missouri Highway Patrol Troop E Headquarters in Poplar Bluff. "We all pay monthly dues. It's not a union. They offer us benefits such as a vision plan, dental plan and college scholarships for children of association members."
Tickets are $26.81 with tax and will be available at the coliseum box office at 9 a.m. Wednesday until concert time at 7 p.m. as long as tickets last. For more information, call (573) 686-8001.
