A series of computer workshops for the public will be held at Southeast Missouri State University.
The classes provide beginning and intermediate level training on commonly used computer programs including Windows 3.1, the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Classes are hands-on, held in a high-tech computer lab at the new Dempster Hall of Business. Each participant has a Pentium computer to use during learning sessions. Instructors are university professors, and continuing education units are offered for each six-hour section completed.
Pre-registration is required and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $75 for six-hour sections and $40 for three-hour sections. The price includes a textbook to keep.
Classes include:
-- Windows 3.1 for Beginners; offered Feb. 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. and again April 2 from 6 to 9 p.m.
-- Windows 3.1 for Users; offered Feb. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. and again April 22 from 1 to 4 p.m.
-- Introduction to the Internet; offered Feb. 12 from 1 to 4 p.m., March 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. and April 4 from 9 a.m. to noon.
-- Introduction to Microsoft Word 6.0; offered Feb. 17 and 19, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Intermediate Microsoft Word 6.0; offered Feb. 24 and 26, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Introduction to Excel 5.0; offered March 10 and 12, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Intermediate Excel 5.0; offered March 24 and 26, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Making Presentations with PowerPoint 4.0; offered April 14 and 16, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Introduction to Access 2.0; offered April 6 and 8, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Intermediate Access 2.0; offered April 21 and 23, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
-- Integration of Word, Excel and Access; offered April 30, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
-- Business Writing Basics, Punctuation and Grammar; offered April 27 and 29, 1 to 4 p.m. each day.
