The city of Cape Girardeau announced Thursday that Ozark Limousine Service of Farmington has agreed to provide a daily Greyhound shuttle service between Cape Girardeau, Sikeston and St. Louis.
City Manager J. Ronald Fischer said Thursday that the company will provide a shuttle van to take Greyhound bus passengers from Cape Girardeau to the two locations.
The Sikeston-bound shuttle will board in Cape Girardeau at 10:15 a.m. daily at the downtown public parking lot, situated across from the former Bus Stop Cafe on Spanish Street. The shuttle is scheduled to arrive in Sikeston at 11 a.m. daily, where passengers can buy tickets to any Greyhound destination from Sikeston.
The shuttle then will return to Cape Girardeau at about 12:05 p.m., to take passengers to St. Louis for a scheduled 3:45 p.m. arrival. For more information on the shuttle service, departure times and rates, contact Ozark Limo Service at (800) 729-1509.
Fischer said Ozark officials have agreed to provide the service until the city is able to secure Greyhound bus service here.
"They said they will do this until we get something set up," he said. "That will at least get people to Sikeston and St. Louis.
"Sikeston is a designated Greyhound rest area, where people can stop, relax and get a bite to eat. Of course, St. Louis is a full-service Greyhound terminal."
An Ozark spokesman said Thursday that shuttle passengers can purchase shuttle tickets from the van's driver. Ticket to any Greyhound destination can be purchased at either the Sikeston or St. Louis terminals. The tickets also are available at Ozark's Farmington office.
