Christina Shaw, a 1998 graduate of Scott City High School and a three-year member of the school speech team, has made school history. She is the first speech team member to win district and state competitions. During the 1997-98 school year she was the state and district champion in prose reading, and the district champion in dramatic interpretation. Shaw also won in the dramatic interpretation category in competitions at Jackson, Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, Dexter, Bernie, Cape Girardeau and Kennett. She was second in dramatic interpretation at Perryville, second in prose reading at Kennett, third in prose reading at Sikeston and second in poetry at Poplar Bluff.
