Parents Without Partners will attend line dance lessons from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Circle S Saddle in Gordonville, Mo.

IAAP will hold meeting Tuesday at Drury Lodge

Horse show to benefit children with diabetes

The Midwest Regional Futurity and Heartland Jubilee Horse Show will open at 1 p.m. Saturday at Flickerwood Arena near Jackson. Evening show and awards presentation begins at 6 p.m. A "for sale" class for gaited horses only will follow the futurity classes. The show will follow National Horse Show Commission guidelines.

Proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Youth Fund at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Cherokee potluck picnic to be held Saturday

From noon to 4 p.m. Saturday a Cherokee potluck picnic will be held at Cape County Park North shelter No. 3. The picnic is free and open to the public. Please bring a covered dish, drinks and lawn chairs. Diana Lawson, Shirley Hency and April Rhodes will be hosts of the event. The picnic will promote fellowship among area Cherokee descendants. Community Caring Council to meet Friday

The Community Caring Council will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 804 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Robin Grier will provide information about the Missouri Foundation for Health, and Kay Azuma of the council will present a summary of results from the COMPASS Community Survey.

The foundation has distributed over $2 million in grants throughout Southeast Missouri for several health-related projects since August 2002.
