Car wash at Sonic to raise awareness

A car wash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sonic parking lot near Target Stores. A group for the mentally handicapped, Someone's Treasure, is trying to raise awareness of the group along with donations toward an upcoming trip to Branson, Mo. Collectors club holding convention this week

The 12th annual Currier and Ives Collectors Club will hold a convention today through Saturday at Drury Lodge. Registration and social time is from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Lorimier Room. To attend the convention and participate in the activities, membership in the club is required. Registration includes two meals and access to all conference events. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday with events continuing until 8 p.m.; registration is from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, with events continuing until 2 p.m.

Nussbaum family reunion set for Sunday

The annual Nussbaum reunion will be begin with a 12:30 p.m. covered-dish dinner Sunday at the church hall at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. Drinks and table service will be provided. Bingo will follow the meal, with prizes at 2 p.m. There will be water balloons for the children. Attendees are encouraged to bring table games, cards or outdoor games. SEMO Iris Society holding auction

The SEMO Iris Society will have its annual plant auction at 2 p.m. Aug. 5, at the lower level of the University of Missouri Extension Building in Jackson. For more information, call Charles Pickett 334-1232 or Nancy Elliott 238-3087.
