Community Caring Council meeting
The Community Caring Council monthly meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Kasten Community Development Center, 937 Broadway, Suite 102. New camp for Modern Woodmen
Camp No. 4902 is the number of the new camp for Modern Woodmen of America. Their first camp dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Frontier Restaurant in Fruitland. Call secretary Betty Jones at 243-3261 for more information. All Modern Woodmen are invited. There will be several door prizes.
Library and Red House partner in book discussion
The Cape Girardeau Public Library and the Red House Interpretive Center will present the bicentennial book discussion, "In Search of York: the Slave Who Went to the Pacific with Lewis and Clark," a biography written by Robert Betts at 7 p.m. Aug. 1. The discussion will be held at the Red House, 128 Aquamsi/South Main Street.
