Millersville Masonic lodge meeting tonight
The Millersville Masonic Lodge Westview 103 will hold a dinner meeting at 6:45 p.m. today at the lodge.

Rummage sale slated to benefit fire department
The ladies auxiliary of the Millersville Fire Department will hold a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the fire station on Highway 72.
Clothing and household items will be sold. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available. Proceeds will go towards training and equipment for the volunteer firefighters.
Salvation Army plans 'Meals with Friends'
The Salvation Army at 701 Good Hope will serve "Meals with Friends" next Monday through Friday. Serving time is 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu includes Monday, chili dog on bun; Tuesday, goulash; Wednesday, taco or taco salad; Thursday, turkey and noodles; Friday, barbecue sandwich and fries.
Cape travelers post to hold family picnic
Cape Girardeau Post M of the National Travelers Protective Association will hold a family picnic at County Park Shelter 8, at 6 p.m. Saturday. Members and their families are encourage to attend.
Leon and Margret Dickerson of Jackson and Jerry and Juanita Henley of Cape Girardeau recently attended the association's national convention at Louisville, Ky.
Association officers were elected. Luther Burleson of Texas was named president; Sharon Galluser of Kentucky was elected president-elect.
Vandivort family reunion scheduled for July 6
More than 100 Vandivort family members from across the United States are expected to attend family reunion in the Cape Girardeau area from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 6.
The family will tour homes, businesses, churches, cemetery lots, the Archives Center, City Hall and other sites related to the Vandivort, Sandford, Bollinger, Welling and Russell family ancestors.
The family has a noon meal at the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, featuring discussion by Paul Stein of their Jackson "roots."
The Vandivorts own and operate a third-generation family farming corporation with properties in Missouri and Arkansas and will be celebrating the 45th year of continuous reunions in the Cape Girardeau area.
Lamplighters group to sponsor dinner Saturday
Lamplighters FCE will sponsor 'Relay for Life' dinner from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Coon Hunters building in Daisy, Mo. Bratwurst, hotdogs, and desserts will be served.

Volunteer horsemanship training session today
A volunteer training session will be conducted for volunteers in the Mississippi Valley therapeutic horsemanship program today at 60 N. Park in Cape Girardeau.
The non-profit program offers horseback riding for people with disabilities in Southeast Missouri, said Jana Rodgers, adding: "We need a number of volunteers to help riders while they're on horseback." A volunteer training session is scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today.
Three volunteers are needed to assist riders with disabilities, said Rodgers. One leads the horse, and two others are "sidewalkers," meaning they walk alongside the rider providing assistance with balance and positioning. Information is available by calling 651-4860.
