River Heritage Quilters' Guild meets today

The River Heritage Quilters' Guild monthly meeting is today at the Cape Girardeau Senior Center, 921 N. Clark Ave. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will start at 7 p.m. Mary K. Reed will present the program. Reed was a multiple winner at last year's River Heritage Quilt Show and will share her projects, tips and suggestions. She was also a teacher at the Sewing Basket Quilt Shop for several years and will be bringing her expertise. In addition, an introduction of the House of the Brave Quilt Project will be made. This is a grassroots project to honor America's war dead. The Citrus Belt Quilt Guild in Redlands, Calif., started this project. Visitors are welcome to come and be a part of the group of quilters. Garden Club plans events for summer

The Chateau Girardeau Garden Club held its first meeting recently. Officers continuing in their posts are Carmen Roberson, chairwoman, Marie Stalon, co-chairwoman, Sina Kaiser, program chairwoman, and Joan Slaughter, publicity. Upcoming programs include a field trip June 13 to the Red House Gardens downtown; master gardener Don Koehler on July 11; door decorating by Debbie Ebaugh on Aug. 8; "Coffee at the Gazebo," care of houseplants Sept. 12; Margaret (Honev) Baker, The Gourd Lady, gourd art.

Jackson class of 1982 reunion set for July

A 25-year class reunion for Jackson High School class of 1982 will begin with family night at 6 p.m. July 6 at Jackson City Park pavilion No. 4. Cape Parks holds Cardinals Game Day

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Withers Broadcasting, will hold the seventh annual St. Louis Cardinals Game Day at 6:15 p.m. July 7. This year's game will be against the San Francisco Giants. Fans bringing cameras will be allowed on the field before the game to take pictures with players and Fred Bird for Creve Coeur Camera Photo Day. The bus will be leaving from Osage Community Centre at 1:15 p.m. and should return about 11:30 p.m. Limited tickets available. Neighborhood Connections meets

Neighborhood Connections will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 101 N. Fountain St, Everyone is invited to find out how to make a neighborhood a wonderful place to live. For more information, call 651-4567.

SEMO Pachyderm Club holds meal, meeting

The Southeast Missouri Pachyderm Club will start with a 6:15 p.m. meal Thursday at Dexter Bar-B-Que, followed by a 7 p.m. meeting. For more information, call Gerald Adams at 243-4199.

Cemetery association holds annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Old Goshen Cemetery Association will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the building on cemetery grounds. All members and interested parties are invited to attend. Fellowship, beverages and desserts will follow the meeting. For those who cannot attend but wish to make a contribution, checks made payable to the Old Goshen Cemetery Association may be mailed to treasurer Carolyn Hahs, 499 Ann Drive, Jackson, Mo. 63755.
