Thorngate reunion rescheduled for Monday

The Thorngate employee reunion originally scheduled for Feb. 20 has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Monday at Ryan's Steak House in Cape Girardeau. All former employees of Thorngate Ltd. manufacturing plant in Chaffee are invited to attend.

Zonta Club celebrates Yellow Rose Day

The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau area celebrated Yellow Rose Day in conjunction with International Women's Day on March 8. Zontians worldwide were encouraged to publicly distribute yellow roses and items bearing the image of yellow roses, a symbol of fellowship. Locally the Zonta Club of the Cape Girardeau area distributed roses to elementary school teachers to show their gratitude for their commitment to education. State Rep. Nathan Cooper presented the club with a resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives recognizing the club for its service and contribution to the community.

Kelso holds kindergarten registration on March 27

The Kelso School District will hold kindergarten registration from 6 to 7 p.m. March 27 in the school cafeteria. Registration and enrollment forms will be completed at this meeting. Parents of children who will be 5 years old before Aug. 1 should plan on attending for the full hour. Bring the child's birth certificate, immunization record and Social Security number. Sign-up sheets will be available for health screenings. Kindergarten screenings will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. April 3 and April 5. Appointments required to complete the one-hour screening process held at St. Lawrence Parish Hall, New Hamburg. For more information, call (573) 545-3357.
