Bernie Community Center holds pageant
Registration for the second annual "Shining Star Pageant" to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Bernie Community Center in Bernie, Mo. Categories range from infant to age 20 and up. A pageant wear sale/exchange will also be held. Concessions will be available and all proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Firearms instruction offered at Apple Creek
The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center is offering a basic firearms shooting course for 12- to 17-year-olds from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Apple Creek Conservation Area. Outdoor skills specialist DeeDee Dockins will provide basic firearms safety instruction and information on proven wing shooting techniques. No previous experience is necessary. Transportation to and from the Nature Center and all equipment will be provided. Preregistration and signed release forms are required. Space is limited to 10 participants. Ladies Aid to hold sale and luncheon
The Hanover Lutheran Ladies Aid is sponsoring a "Spring Has Sprung" sale and soup/dessert luncheon from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 24 at 2949 Perryville Road in Cape Girardeau. Sale features clothing, household items, knickknacks, crafts, plants, Rada cutlery, handmade afghans and tacked quilt. Coffee cake and coffee will be available for purchase from 8 to 10 a.m., and a soup/dessert luncheon will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
