The Bootheel Regional Art Guild invites the public to a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sweetgum Gallery, 400 N. Main St., Sikeston, Mo. A short refresher course on perspective drawing will be conducted by Herb Wickham. Participants are invited to bring an abstract, Valentine or painting for show and tell. Refreshments will be served.
A Central Junior High School PTO fund raiser will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the school's cafeteria. The event includes a chili supper including chili, hot dogs, desserts and drink along with a fine arts festival. A re-creation of the downtown flood wall mural more than 50 feet long will be on display.
Though the Jackson Senior Center plans to move to its new facility at the intersection of Traveler's Way and East Main Street in Jackson sometime in March, funds are still needed to pay for the project. The Scott County Historical and Genealogy Society will hold a working meeting beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday in the South Meeting Room at Riverside Regional Library in Benton, Mo. Participants are asked to bring family group sheets, notes, books, ideas and curiosity. The research room will be open. This new format for 2005 will alternate work sessions and business, programs and meetings. The public is welcome to attend any meeting and membership is not required. Notre Dame Regional High School will open its doors at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 for trivia night. "TV Land" is the theme. Questions are not limited to TV trivia, but categories are inspired by television networks, favorite characters or TV shows. A charity golf tournament to benefit the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence is scheduled May 6 at the Bootheel Golf Club in Sikeston, Mo. Registration for the Paul Boyd Children's Charity Golf Tournament begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. It is a four-person scramble. Fees include all course costs, dinner, drinks, awards and free practice round with early registration.
