Make a sweet holiday treat at the library
All ages are invited to start a new tradition and make a sweet holiday treat at the Cape Girardeau Public Library this Saturday. The program will begin at 10 a.m.
The library will provide graham crackers and icing for basic building materials. Please bring a bag of candy or sweets to share. Suggestions include miniature candies, pretzels, sticks of gum, marshmallows and chocolate chips.

Chaffee Christmas Parade set for Saturday
CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The Chaffee Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual Christmas Parade at 1 p.m. Saturday. The theme for this year's parade will be "Christmas in the Country."
The parade will once again kick off from the Head Start parking lot on North Main and end at the Rhodes 101/Dollar General parking lot on Highway 77. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three floats. Refreshments will be served in the Country CBer's building for all participants.

Marketing workshop to be held in Sikeston
SIKESTON, Mo. -- University Outreach and Extension will be hosting an "Advanced Marketing Strategies Using Futures, Options and Charts" workshop from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clinton Building in Sikeston.
The speaker will be Alan Brugler, president of Brugler Marketing and Managment, LLC of Omaha, Neb. Brugler served as director of marketing analysis for DTN and AgDayta for the past 10 years.
Topics will include "Harvest is Over -- What Do I Do Now?," "Using Futures and Options to Enhance Returns on 2002 Crop," and "Brugler's Selling Tools Formula -- Which Marketing Tools to Use and When."
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Cost of the workshop is $30, which includes a noon meal and handouts. To register, call the Scott County Extension office at (573) 545-3516 by Monday. The Clinton Building is located at 501 Campanella Ave.
