Radio show recipe cards now available
A collection of nearly 100 recipes cooked by Georganne Syler and Tom Harte last year during the KRCU Caffe Concerto at Schnucks is now available.
KRCU Caffe Concerto is a monthly series of cooking demonstrations and a spinoff of Harte's radio show, The Caffe Concerto, that airs on KRCU Public Radio, 90.9 FM. The show is a classical music program with a culinary motif.
The recipes, including appetizers, breads, soups, salads, main courses, and lots of desserts, are printed on high quality card stock and come complete with divider cards. Due to assistance from Schnucks and the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Marion, they are being used as a fund raiser for the radio station.
The recipes sell for $5.50 a set, tax included, and are available at Schnucks' courtesy counter. A picture of the cards can be seen online at www.krcu.org.
SalvationArmy reports campaign still behind
The Salvation Army Annual Tree of Lights Campaign is still more than $7,000 behind last year's total.
The organization also reports that there were 1,144 Christmas basket applications taken this year, which is over 100 more than last year.
