Scavenger hunt to be held at library Thursday

Test your navigational skills at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cape Girardeau Public Library with a fun yet challenging scavenger hunt.

Children in grades 3 through 6 will rely on their sharp eyes and quick reflexes in a race to be the first to finish. Refreshments will be served.

Wonderland organizers looking for vendors

BENTON, Mo. -- Vendors and exhibitors are needed for the Third Annual "Winter Wonderland of Treasures" sale sponsored by the St. Denis Home and School of Benton.

The sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Parish Center on U.S. 61. Booth rental is $10 per booth for individuals to sell crafts, specialty-food items, direct-sale items (such as Avon, Tupperware, etc.), antiques, collectibles, yard sale items. Anything goes, according to organizers.

Reserve a booth by calling Diane at 545-3185 before Tuesday, Nov. 26. Availability of booths is limited and will be sold on a first-come basis. Vendors are not required to be parishioners to participate.

Morning book discussion to be held Friday

The next meeting of the Morning Book Discussion group will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hirsch Community Room of the Cape Girardeau Public Library. Participants will be reading "The Honk and Holler Opening Soon" by Billie Letts, a heartfelt story of persons and lives not quite perfect, and how a community can soothe some problems.
