An opportunity to donate to Katrina victims

A nationwide restaurant fund raiser called "Dine For America" will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pizza Inn, 3333 Gordonville Road, Cape Girardeau. Pizza Inn will donate 10 percent of all profits in an effort to raise funds for the American Red Cross to help those affected by hurricane Katrina. Women in Agriculture invite others to join

The Scott County Women in Agriculture will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday at the USDA Office on Highway 77 in Benton, Mo. All women are invited to attend, especially those with an interest in gardening, cooking, farming, family activities and helping the community. HICotN dance club starts classes for beginners

The HICotN dance club will hold beginner country line dance classes from 6:30 to 7 p.m. starting Thursday at the American Legion Post 63, 2731 Thomas Drive, Cape Girardeau. Open dance follows until 10 p.m. The beginners classes will last for seven consecutive Thursdays. For more information, call Jeremy at 579-0019 or Christy at 587-1520.

2005 Thilenius reunion begins Friday in Longview

The Thilenius family reunion will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Longview, Mo., continuing Saturday at 10 a.m. The group will then caravan to 5-H Ranch. After lunch and socializing, the group will meet in Cape Girardeau at 5:30 p.m. to view the Mississippi River Tales floodwall murals. At 6 p.m. there will be a light buffet at Port Cape Restaurant. A 10 a.m. Sunday brunch at Longview is planned.

Hobbs Chapel to hold annual fall bazaar

The Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Women will hold its annual fall bazaar from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. "Your Trash, Our Treasures" tables will be featured at this year's sale. The Hobbs Chapel sweet shop will be featured as will innovative crafts, books, cookbooks, jellies and quilts. Lunch will be served throughout the day.

Jackson High School to hold 50-year reunion

The Jackson High School gclass of 1955 will hold its 50-year class reunion Saturday at the Davis Banquet Hall on Highway 25 south of Jackson. The gathering will start between 4 and 4:30 p.m., with a meal served at 5 p.m. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 243-5497. Visitors are welcome after 6 p.m. Bring pictures and memories.
