Zion Lutheran Church will hold a chicken and dumplings and kettle-cooked beef supper from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The church is on Highway 25 in Gordonville. Kids under 6 eat free.

Salvation Army serving meals with friends

Serving time is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 25 to 29 at The Salvation Army, 701 Good Hope, Cape Girardeau. Any individual is welcome to come and enjoy a hot, nutritious meal in a cool, friendly atmosphere at no cost.

Monday: sloppy joes on bun, french fries, fruit cocktail, cake or pie; Tuesday: turkey and noodles, peas, peaches, rolls and butter, cake or pie; Wednesday: shepherd's pie, mixed vegetables, cole slaw, bread and butter, cake or pie; Thursday: baked ham, augratin potatoes, corn, lettuce salad, bread and butter, cake or pie; Friday: chili dog on bun, potato chips, applesauce, cake or pie.

St. Joseph annual church picnic scheduled

St. Joseph's annual church picnic will be held from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30. The meal will include fried chicken and kettle-cooked beef.
