Cape Girardeau fish fry to benefit Vickie Halter

A benefit fish fry will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Salvation Army Gym, located at Sprigg and Good Hope Streets in Cape Girardeau. The James Bayou catfish cookers will fry the fish; a silent auction will be held and raffle tickets for two 5-by-8 tilt trailers, a Kenmore gas grill, a portable DVD player and $100 cash will be available. Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling 335-4390. Proceeds will be used to help offset medical costs of Vickie Halter, who needs a double lung transplant.

Kettle beef dinner is Saturday at Cornerstone

An all-you-can-eat kettle beef dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Church, 922 Koch, Cape Girardeau. Children under 4 eat free. For more information, call 335-4456.

Chicken and dumplings on menu in Glennon

An all-you-can-eat chicken and dumplings, kettle beef, and dressing dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony's Church at Glennon. Desserts and drinks are included. Carry outs are available.
