Benefit chili supper at Covenant Christian Center

A chili supper will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Covenant Christian Center, 6271 U.S. 61, Fruitland. Menu includes chili, hot dog, drink and dessert. A raffle, silent auction and Tupperware-cash and-carry will be held to benefit the People to People Student Ambassador Program for Jimmy Slinkard. Children under 5 eat free.

Hobbs Chapel serving chicken, dumplings, ham

Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a chicken and dumplings and ham dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m. April 23. The menu includes green beans, slaw, mashed potatoes, corn and homemade dessert. The meal will be served buffet-style. Carryouts will be available.

Dinner, Hee Haw show at First General Baptist

The First General Baptist youth group will perform a Hee Haw show at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday in the church's activity center, on Route PP across from the Coca-Cola plant. The meal will include pork steak prepared by JV Barbeque, baked potato, baked beans, cole slaw, drink and dessert. Call the church office at 243-8467 for tickets. Proceeds will benefit the Tex-Mex Mission Team.
