New McKendree church plans catfish fish fry

A catfish fish fry will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at New McKendree United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 225 S. High St., Jackson. Menu includes fried catfish, fried onions, baked beans, coleslaw, UMM signature-fried curly potatoes and dessert. Children under 6 eat free.

Whitewater church plans sausage breakfast

A breakfast featuring whole hog sausage, homemade biscuits, gravy, eggs and bacon will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Whitewater Methodist Church. The event is sponsored by the UMW.

St. Joseph Church to hold spring dinner Sunday

Fried chicken, chicken and dressing, chicken and dumplings, green beans, mashed potatoes, slaw, applesauce, bread, dessert, tea and coffee are on the menu from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Church, 604 Sycamore St., Scott City. Children under 6 eat free. Carryouts will be available, and there will be a country store and bakery shop.

Fish fry in Anna will benefit abandoned pets

A Good Friday fish fry to benefit PAWS Inc. will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. March 25 at Lou's Room, 109 W. Vienna St., Anna, Ill. The meal includes all the fish you can eat, potato salad, slaw, hushpuppies and homemade dessert. All proceeds will support PAWS programs, including the no-kill adoption center in Anna.
