Dinner held by Advance chapter of Eastern Star
ADVANCE, Mo. -- The Advance Chapter No. 412 Order of the Eastern Star will hold its annual chicken and dumpling dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The all-you-care-to-eat meal for $6 will be served at the Advance Masonic Lodge.
Chili and stew supper scheduled for Saturday
FRUITLAND, Mo. -- St. John's United Church of Christ, 2 1/2 miles west of Fruitland on Highway FF, will be having a chili and stew supper Saturday. Serving begins at 4 p.m. Prices are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 6-12, with 5 and under eating free. Country store items will also be available.
Fairview UMC plans chili/stew supper
BURFORDVILLE, Mo. -- A chili/stew supper will be held at Fairview United Methodist Church Saturday with serving to begin at 4:30 p.m. and an auction held at 6 p.m. The menu includes chili, stew, hot dogs, dessert and drink.
Pork sausage supper to be held Sunday
POCAHONTAS, Mo. -- Zion Lutheran Church of Pocahontas will be holding a pork sausage supper at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The menu will include German potato salad, slaw, applesauce, beans, cornbread, homemade bread and coffee cake.
Prices are $6 for adults and $2.50 for children. Country store items will be available.
Perkins fire department plans Sunday barbecue
PERKINS, Mo. -- The Perkins Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 19th Annual Bar-B-Que of Boston butts and smoked chicken from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Prices are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 6-12, with 5 and under eating free.
A 30-30 lever action deer rifle will be given away.
To get to the church, turn off U.S. 34 onto Highway UU at Burfordville, Mo., go to County Road 354, turn right onto County Road 356, turn left.
Jackson church to serve turkey and dressing meal
Immaculate Conception Church of Jackson will be serving a turkey and dressing dinner at its parish center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The meal, sponsored by St. Ann's Sodality, will be served cafeteria style, with carry-out plates available. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12.
