Niswonger homecoming dinner will be Sunday
The Niswonger homecoming dinner will be begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Niswonger Church, three miles west of Millersville on Highway 72. A short business meeting will follow the dinner. In case of rain, the dinner and meeting will be held inside the Millersville Baptist Church basement in Millersville.
Downtown Kids Association holds sale
The Downtown Kids Association, a youth affiliate of Old Town Cape, will host a book and bake sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 101 Main St. The sale will be held during the River City Rodders annual car show. There also will be free face painting and music. Funds will be used for future group events. Nitsch family reunion planned for Sunday

League of Women Voters to meet Tuesday
The League of Women Voters will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Medical Arts Building, 937 Broadway, Cape Girardeau. Featured speaker is Warren Anderson, Southeast Missouri State University faculty member of the department of foreign languages. Those interested are invited to participate with the LWV in listening to Anderson's presentation on the topic.
Coalition for Peace and Justice will hold rally
The Southeast Missouri Coalition for Peace and Justice will hold a rally for peace from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Capaha Park's Freedom Corner on Broadway.
Florsheim reunion will be held Sept. 30
The Florsheim reunion will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Cape County Park North shelter No. 5. Anyone attending should bring lawn chairs, drinks for themselves and snacks and/or finger foods to share. If there is enough participation, an annual event will be held. Bring musical instruments for "picking and grinning."
