Thursday meeting set for Pachyderm club

The Southeast Missouri Pachyderm Club will meet for a meal at 6:15 p.m. and a program at 7 p.m. Thursday at Dexter Bar-B-Que in Cape Girardeau. The program will feature three candidates vying for the House seat of the 158th district. There will be a question and answer period. For more information, call Gerald Adams at 243-4199.

Civil War Roundtable meets Sunday

The Civil War Roundtable will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. The featured speaker is Richard Justice of Sikeston, Mo., who will give a presentation on "Snakes and their places during the Civil War." It is the first time this aspect of the war has been covered. Ideas for the annual fall trip in October will be discussed.
