Annual Anna flea market canceled after 31 years

The annual Anna flea market, sponsored by the Union County Historical and Genealogy Society, is being canceled after a run of 31 years. The Historical Society did not get enough response from their dealer base to make this year's market worthwhile.

Cape Girardeau AARP chapter meets today

The Cape Girardeau Chapter of AARP No. 4041 meets at 1:30 p.m. today at the Cape Girardeau Senior Center, 921 N. Clark Ave. The program, presented by Chuck Martin, CVB director, will be "Southeast Missouri -- Seeking the Sites." There will be a door-prize drawing.

Women in Agriculture will meet Thursday

The Scott County Women in Agriculture will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the USDA office on Highway 77 in Benton. Paul Schnare from Sunny Hill Garden Center in Cape Girardeau will present a program, "Lawn Care and Maintenance." All women are invited to attend. Cape Senior Center dance will be Friday

The Cape Senior Center will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. Proceeds will benefit the building fund.

John Grant Hartle family reunion set for Sunday

The John Grant Hartle family reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Cape County Park North, shelter No. 6. There will be a covered-dish lunch. All relatives are welcome. Call Bernice at 243-4371 for more information.

Maevers family reunion scheduled for June 24

The Maevers family reunion will be held at noon June 24 at Jackson City Park, pavilion No. 2, off Highway D near the new tennis courts. Bring covered dish and lawn chairs. For more information, call Lester Maevers at 243-8506.
