Church Women United hold CROP sale, lunch

The Church Women United CROP sale and luncheon will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 14 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis St. in Cape Girardeau. Early birds will be served warm cinnamon rolls and coffee; luncheon is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu is chicken pasta salad, fresh-baked bread, dessert and drink. Hot dog plates will be available. A $5 donation is suggested. Carryouts will be available. Fresh and canned fruit, vegetables, jams available; baked goods, plants, children's items, odds and ends available for sale. Proceeds benefit a scholarship to Young Life Camp, a scholarship for a woman to the Career and Technology Center and Church World service projects.

Jackson High School reunion set for July 21

The Jackson High School reunion is scheduled for 5 to 10 p.m. July 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Salvation Army serves meals with friends

The Salvation Army at 701 Good Hope St., Cape Girardeau, will be serving meals with friends from 4:30 to 6:30 Monday to Friday this week. Menu includes cake or pie at each meal. Today's menu is nachos, refried beans and mixed fruit; Tuesday, turkey salad sandwiches, chips, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce; Wednesday, chili with crackers, corn, peaches; Thursday, barbeque pork sandwiches, pork and beans, pears; Friday, tuna salad or cold macroni, chips, applesauce, bread and butter.
