Grill and movie night planned at church

The public is invited for grilled food at 7:30 p.m. Friday, followed at 8:30 by the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks" shown on a big screen outside on the church lawn at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. For more information, call 243-4265.

Peace and Dignity Run canceled

Cape Parks and Rec offers St. Louis trip

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is offering a trip to St. Louis to see the show "High School Musical" at The Muny. The bus will depart from the Osage Community Centre at 5 p.m. June 30. Prices for the show vary according to seating. Transportation includes a charter bus ride to and from The Muny. Concessions will be available at The Muny, or participants may bring a small cooler and eat on the bus. No glass containers will be allowed.
