Woodland High School Holds Reunion for classes of '51 and '52

The classes of 1951 and 1952 joined together for a class reunion at Delmonico's Restaurant in Jackson recently. Three former teachers attended: Gene and Delba Englehardt from St. Louis and Mrs. Lynne Dodson Bahn from Cape Girardeau. A Super Sitter class will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays in June at the Generations Family Resource Center at Southeast Missouri Hospital, on the first floor near the lobby. Girls and boys age 11 to 16 will learn child growth and development, babysitting dos and don'ts, first aid techniques and child CPR. There is a fee. Grant speaks to Scott County historical society

The Scott County Historical and Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Scott County Courthouse in Benton, Mo. Marilyn Grant will speak on "Growing Up in McMullin and the Richwoods Methodist Church." Members and guests are invited to attend this program. The organization meets on the third Tuesday monthly. 55 Alive Safety Driving Course on tap this week

The 55 Alive Safety Driving Course will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Bank of Missouri, 3247 William St. The course will run from 12 to 4 p.m. each day. Participants must attend both sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion. For more information, call 335-3100.

Registration forms due for cheerleading camp

Registration for the Jackson Cheerleading Clinic is due by Wednesday in order to guarantee the registered child a T-shirt. The clinic will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 21 to 24 and children can be registered the first day. The camp is open to girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. Medicare presentation sponsored in Perryville

The APPLE Project, an older adult outreach program of the Southeast Missouri State University department of human environmental studies, will give a brief presentation on the new Medicare Prescription Discount cards at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Perryville Senior Center. Information will include eligibility requirements, selecting the most beneficial card, enrollment procedures, how to use the Medicare-certified discount card in conjunction with other prescription coverage, who qualifies for the $600 credit and when the benefits begin.

Child safety topic of Southeast Hospital class

Grandparents are invited to learn about child safety seats and swimming safety with injury prevention nurse Brenda Bowman from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Generations Family Resource Center at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Registration for this free class, sponsored by Southeast's Center for Women's and Children's Services, may be made by calling 651-5825.

Community Caring Council holding meeting

A Community Caring Council meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Hospital planning pool time for fathers, children

In honor of fathers, a free, noncompetitive event is planned by staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital's Main Street Family Fitness Center in Jackson. The event will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at Jackson City Pool. Fathers may enjoy a summer outing with children or grandchildren. For more information and registration, call 243-2211.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters plan bowling benefit

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is opening registration for its 20th annual Bowl for Kids' Sake fund-raising activity. Parents Without Partners plans four June events

Parents Without Partners will hold a dance from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Cape Girar-deau VFW on Saturday. The event is open to the public. A Father's Day picnic will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Cape County Park. Members will take their children to Six Flags from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 26. Disability Resource Fair at Cape Girardeau mall

The 2004 Disability Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Westfield Shoppingtown West Park. The event offers area resource organizations and vendors, as well as professional and amateur artisans, the chance to display and explain their services. The event will also promote the artistic and creative talents of individuals with disabilities. Bunny Bread Reunion set at Cape County Park

Employees of Cape Girar-deau Bunny Bread plant and union local 199 will hold their second annual reunion beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday at shelter eight in Cape County Park North. Contra dance features caller, fiddle tunes

Cape Friends of Traditional Music and Dance will hold a contra dance and ice cream social from 7 to 9:30 p.m. June 26 at Christ Episcopal Church, 101 N. Fountain, Cape Girardeau. Maevers family reunion planned for Jackson
