Parenting class to be held in four parts

University of Missouri Extension will hold the first session of Family Strengths from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 27 at the Family Resource Center, 1202 S. Sprigg St. in Cape Girardeau. Sessions will follow on April 3, 10 and 24. The topic on April 10 is the importance of reading. Participants at the first session will choose the topics of the remaining sessions. Free presentations include an educational youth component for children and baby sitting is available with registration. Call the Community Caring Council at 651-3747, extension 104, or the Cape Girardeau County Extension Center at 243-3581 by Thursday. Door prizes and a light supper will be provided.

Spring fling planned at Immaculate Conception

Immaculate Conception Home and School Associations will hold its annual spring fling dinner auction, themed I.C. Sports Madness, April 1 at the IC multipurpose building. A primary fund-raiser for the school, proceeds are used to support the operation of the school and subsidize tuition for approximately 300 students. Tickets are available by calling 243-0865.
