Reunion set for former Thorngate employees
Employees of the former Thorngate Ltd. manufacturing plant in Chaffee, Mo., will gather for their 10th annual reunion at 5 p.m. Feb. 20 at Ryan's Steak House in Cape Girardeau. All former employees are invited and urged to attend.
A Christian singles get-together is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Immaculate Conception Church Fellowship Room, 208 S. Hope St., Jackson. The event is open to all Christian singles. A potluck dinner will be followed by a rotating table game. Bring a covered dish. Call Judy at 243-9343 for more information.
Jackson Public Library, 101 Court St.,has a check-out program to encourage fishing. Implemented by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The program offers a rod and reel, tackle box, instruction manual and video that can be checked out with a library card for seven days. Nearby Jackson Rotary Lake contains channel catfish, bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie and rainbow trout. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, 80 people took advantage of the program, which began in March 2005. Twenty rods and reels are available for check-out.
