Extension center offers nutrition program

A nutrition program called "Eat Well, Be Well with Diabetes" will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday and Nov. 16 and 30 at the University of Missouri Extension Center, 684 Jackson Trail, Jackson. Class size is limited. Call 243-3581 or Judy Lueders at 547-4504 or e-mail lueders@missouri.edu to register or for more information. The presentation will help diabetics make wise food choices and prepare healthy meals. Helpful information on adapting recipes and menus will be available.

Annual veterans event presented by DAR

The Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its annual Veterans Coffee and Exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Sikeston Depot in Sikeston, Mo. Ed Kaiser will be the guest speaker at 2:30 p.m.

The Community Counseling Center Foundation is sponsoring its fall semiannual antique and collectibles show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Arena Building. Preshow sale is from 8 to 9 a.m. Antique and collectible dealers can sign up for space now by contacting Larry Essner, foundation director, at 334-1100, extension 219, or Elmer Schetter, chairman, at 335-8733.

NARFE to meet at Perryville Ponderosa

The National Association of Retired and Current Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1237 will meet at noon Nov. 14 at the Ponderosa Steakhouse in Perryville, Mo.
