A Parade of Giving will be held from 6:15 to 9 p.m. Sunday at West Park Mall for shoppers who are interested in giving to area not-for-profit organizations by purchasing an exclusive shopping ticket for after-hours shopping, mallwide discounts, giveaways and family entertainment. Last year's event raised nearly $40,000 for 41 area not-for-profit organizations.

Historical society's Christmas bazaar set

COBDEN, Ill. -- Saturday is opening day for Union County Illinois Historical Society's fourth annual Christmas bazaar. The bazaar will continue Friday and Saturday, Nov. 24, 25 and Dec. 2 at the DuBois Building on the north side in downtown Cobden. Renovations may restrict heating, so those who attend should dress accordingly. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The south side of the building houses the Union County Museum, which will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on the days of the bazaar. Proceeds will benefit museum maintenance. Civil War Roundtable meets Sunday

The Cape Civil War Roundtable will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hanover Lutheran Church, 2949 Perryville Road. The presentation features Donnie Tiehes exhibiting Civil War weapons. An explanation of Civil War re-enactments and how to join a local group are also on the meeting's agenda.

Magnolia Manor opens doors for Christmas

CAIRO, Ill. -- A Victorian Christmas at the historic Magnolia Manor, 2700 Washington Ave. in Cairo will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. daily Nov. 24 to Dec. 3. The theme is "A Joyous Christmas." The event will feature decorations made by a Nashville designer and homemade baked goods. Proceeds from the manor's 54th annual event will benefit the historic mansion. Discounted admission for children 4 to 12. Children under 4 are free. For more information, call (618) 734-0201.
