Contra dance to be held Saturday at church
The Cape Friends of Traditional Music and Dance will hold a contra dance from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, 101 N. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. All moves are taught and the dances walked through. Everyone is welcome.
The Red House plans events for October
The Red House is having a River Rhythms program from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Pamela Kugel-Rolls, a Missouri art teacher, artist and director of the River Rhythms project, will talk with children and parents to collect stories that collaborate family life and the river for a future work of art. At 1 p.m. Oct. 13 the Red House will hold a presentation by Tim Bischoff, participant in the National Lewis and Clark Bicentennial.
Citywide yard sale planned in Chaffee, Mo.
The Chaffee Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a citywide yard sale Friday and Saturday. Maps of the yard sales are available at The Picket Fence, Chaffee One Stop, Larry's Quick Mart, Whitaker's Hardware, Chaffee Food Giant or online at www.chaffeechamber.com. Local businesses will offer specials at 7 a.m. Saturday on the Chaffee Medical Center parking lot, Highway 77 and Yoakum Avenue.
Bikers Helping Veterans poker run will be Sunday
Sign in for the Bikers Helping Veterans poker run is at 10 a.m. Sunday at Minors Harley Davidson, 2100 E. Outer Road in Scott City. The last bike out will be at noon and the ride ends at 4 p.m. at Schindler's. The first 50 people get a free patch. All proceeds donated to veterans. Reimann-Gerlach reunion planned
The 27th annual Reimann-Gerlach reunion begins at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Assembly Hall. A covered dish meal starts at 1 p.m. Attendees should bring table service. Call 334-1384 for more information. All family members and friends are invited.
Pro skater to talk, show videos in Cape Girardeau

Medical center hosts Feast Day of St. Francis
Saint Francis Medical Center will host the Feast Day of St. Francis from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Saint Francis Conference Center. The event will stress social justice awareness and honor the life of St. Francis of Assissi, patron saint of Saint Francis Medical Center.
