Cape Genealogical Society plans meeting

The Cape Girardeau County Genealogical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. Guest speaker will be Jack Smoot, site administrator at Bollinger Mill. There will be a presentation on the history of the mill. Nonmembers welcome at all meetings. For more information, call Bill Eddleman at 335-1507.

Jackson Legion Post presents flag to school

The Jackson American Legion Post recently presented Gordonville Elementary School with a new American flag. The students recited the Pledge of Allegiance during the flag raising.

Heartland Care Rehab wins Chairman's Trophy

Heartland Care and Rehab won the 2005 Chairman's Trophy at the Cape Girardeau Christmas Parade of Lights, making it the 11th consecutive year that Heartland Care has won a trophy in the parade. The float, titled "Santa's Workshop," was filled with residents, employees and their children, music and lights.
