AARP meets today at Grace United
The Cape Girardeau County chapter of AARP will meet at 1:30 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church, Broadway and Caruthers. The program will be "The Mississippi River -- Our Greatest Resource" by Frank Nickell of Southeast Missouri State University.
Sunflowers subject of Jackson meeting

Women's Impact Awards scheduled for March 13
An awards breakfast to honor five women in leadership roles who serve as role models will be held at 8:30 a.m. March 13 at Dempster Hall on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. MoDOT holding annual poster, coloring contest
MoDOT is sponsoring its fourth annual coloring and poster contest for students in third to sixth grade, and children ages 2 to 5. The theme is why work zone safety is important. American Legion Post 158 meets
At a recent American Legion Post 158 meeting. Homecomers plans were reported as productive. Contributions to the Post 158 American Legion Memorial Scholarship were from Norman Short in memory of brothers Grub Short, Paul (Bill) Short and Al Bertling. An executive committee meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday; a Legion meeting at 7 p.m. March 9 and the Legion birthday banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 18.
