AARP chapter scheduled to meet this afternoon

The Cape Girardeau County chapter of AARP will meet at 1 p.m. today at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center, 1080 South Silver Springs Road.

There will be a tour of the center with refreshments to follow.

Emerson's mobile office to tour Scott County

U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson's mobile office will make several area stops in January.

On Thursday, the mobile office will be at the Marble Hill, Mo., library from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce from 2 to 3 p.m.

On Jan. 13, the mobile office will be at the Scott County Courthouse at Benton, Mo., from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

On Jan. 16, the mobile office will be at the city hall in Advance, Mo., from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the city hall at Oran, Mo., from 2 to 3 p.m. and the city hall at Chaffee, Mo., from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Darren Lingle, mobile office director, will answer constituents' questions and write down their concerns.

Parents Without Partners to attend dance lessons

Members of Parents Without Partners will attend line dance lessons at Circle S Saddle Company in Gordonville every Wednesday at 7 p.m. throughout January. This activity is open to the public. Call 335-0797 for more information.
