Missouri College Republicans has set up its office in Cape Girardeau in quarters it shares with the Southeast Missouri State University chapter.
The office is in the H&H Building, 400 Broadway.
Nathan Cooper, chairman of the Missouri College Republicans, said: "This is an exciting development for Republican candidates in Cape Girardeau. Usually, young people are very apathetic. We are bucking the trend with the organization that the College Republicans have at Southeast."
Tom Shupe Jr., president of Southeast's College Republicans, said he hopes his group will be a factor in the 1994 election. The local organization has more than 200 members.
The grand opening on the third floor of the building will be at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Statewide, there are 30 College Republican clubs with about 3,000 members in all.
