SCOTT CITY -- A former Scott City man has been appointed executive assistant to the president-executive director of CCI Foundation at Christ College Irvine (CCI), Calif.
The college's Board of Regents announced the appointment of Alan C. Zacharias to the position recently.
Zacharias will be responsible for planning and direction of all college advancement activities of the CCI Foundation, including major-gift solicitation, direct mail marketing, capital campaigns and public relations. He will also represent CCI's president, Ray Halm, in a variety of official capacities.
Zacharias attended Southeast Missouri State University. He is a 1983 graduate of Murray State University in Murray, Ky., with a bachelor of science degree in journalism, public relations and marketing.
Prior to his new job, he served as executive director of a $9 million capital campaign for Christ College Irvin. He has experience in advertising and sales and was with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod's department of stewardship as stewardship and development consultant in New York, New Jersey and the Pacific Southwest.
He is a member of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Association of Lutheran Development Executives, Council for Advancement and Support of education, and the Orange County Industrial League.
He and his wife, Rhonda, live in Mission Viejo, Calif.
