An exchange can be made at McDonald's Restaurants in Cape Girardeau and Jackson.
"We're looking for winter coats for young people and adults," said Bo Shantz, a spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Kiwanis Club. "There are a lot of unfortunate people who need warm clothing this winter."
Shantz said the Kiwanis Club had made arrangements with the two area McDonald's Restaurants and Parisian Cleaners, 340 N. Kingshighway, to provide warm coats to the needy.
People will find a large box at the two McDonald's Restaurants," said Shantz. "All they have to do is contact one of the restaurant employees." The coats will be picked up weekly.
"We'll take the coats to Parisian Cleaners, where they will be cleaned and made ready for use."
The Kiwanis Club will work with various community organizations.
"Or, people can call my office, 651-3325, if they need coats," added Shantz.
