The St. Louis Clydesdales’ Backyard Baseball Showdown event scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31, at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, has been canceled, the team announced via Facebook on Wednesday morning, Aug. 28.

“This unfortunate decision was made after careful consideration and assessments were completed,” the post reads. “We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause.”

The post states all ticket holders will receive a full refund using the purchaser’s original payment method within 10 or fewer business days.
