Kage FCE Club

Inez Statler was hostess for the Oct. 10 meeting of Kage FCE Club. The hostess gave the devotional and Dortha Strack presided.

It was announced the club's SEMO District Fair booth exhibit and Young Americans 4-H Club exhibit is on display at Garber's Men's Wear.

A total of $63 was donated to Alzheimer's Memory Walk in which Shirley Palen participated.

Statler and Judie Herbst presented programs on breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

A craft session is planned and Palen will demonstrate how to make fresh holiday wreaths.

Jane Clark will be hostess for the Nov. 14 meeting. A make and bake auction will be held.

Lamplighters FCE Club

Members of Lamplighters FCE Club met Sept. 18. Karen McLane gave the devotional and Linda Sebaugh called the meeting to order.

It was reported the club's booth at SEMO District Fair won best of show.

Officers elected are: Sebaugh, president; JoAnn Hahs, vice president; Gayla Volz, treasurer; McLane, secretary; Roberta Seabaugh, historian; Teresa Hinkebein, reporter; Jackie Kurre, song leader; and Bev Meyer, game leader.

Meyer presented the program on making living wreaths.

Scottish Rite Women

Husbands were guests at the October meeting of Capaha Scottish Rite Women's Club, held at Delmonico's in Jackson.

Freeda Smothers voiced prayer before the meal. Louella Armstrong conducted the business session.

The November meeting will be held at Delmonico's.

Town, Country FCE Club

Bobbi Price was hostess for the Oct. 10 meeting of Town and Country FCE Club and gave the devotional.

The business session was conducted by Linda Thompson. Members were reminded of the Fall District Meeting Oct. 24 at the University of Missouri Extension Center in Jackson.

Plans were discussed for the club's garage sale Nov. 2 at the Osage Community Centre. It was voted to participate in Fan Mail for the Troops, with members to bring Christmas cards to the November meeting to be mailed to military personnel. It was decided to have a Christmas display at Jackson City Park.

Members were reminded of the Dec. 14 trip to Meramec Music Theatre.

It was reported Shirley Heise and Sue Jones will attend the leader training meeting Nov. 8 at Altenburg. Members will also bring items for the Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry to the November meeting.

Officers elected for 2003 are: Linda Thompson, president; Darlene McCain, vice president and secretary; Heise, treasurer; Lois Seabaugh, reporter; Norma Schrieber, cards and flowers; and Mary Klaproth, songs and games. They will be installed at the December meeting.

Carolyn Thompson presented the program on "Food Preparation 2002," and concluded with members participating in a quiz.

The Nov. 7 meeting will be at the home of Carolyn Thompson.

Scottish Rite Men

The Scottish Rite Men's Club met Oct. 9 with a potluck dinner. The Rev. Earl Statler gave the blessing.

Harold Corse introduced the speaker, Thelma Stone, who talked about the history of quilts and showed some of her collection.

Plans were discussed for the Christmas dinner to be held at the regular meeting in December.

The next meeting is Nov. 13.

Oak Ridge Homemakers

The October meeting of Oak Ridge Homemakers Club was held at the home of Nelda Crader.

Marilyn Retherford opened the meeting and gave the devotional, and prayer was voiced by Kay Huffman. Roll call was answered by each member naming an item used in making wreaths.

A thank-you note was read from a recipient of a monetary gift, and it was reported a book about America was given to Regional Library.

It was announced the district meeting will be held Oct. 24 at the University of Missouri Extension Center.

Carol Byrd, Billie Criddle and Crader will help with the November birthday party at Jackson Manor.

Retherford presented the program on "Creating A Christmas Wreath," and showed materials and tools needed.

Secret pal gifts were exchanged.

Xi Nu Phi chapter

Linda Biri was hostess for the Oct. 15 meeting of Xi Nu Phi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

Members worked on party favors for the Preferential Tea.

Discussions were held on Operation Christmas Child as a service project, and on the convention to be held in Cape Girardeau in 2005.

Sheryl Smith will be hostess for the Nov. 5 meeting.

Eastside Homemakers

Members of Eastside Homemakers Club held their noon luncheon and meeting Oct. 16 at Golden Gate Restaurant. Janet Piepenbrok was in charge of roll call which was answered with something about Halloween.

Maxine Southard presented the program on "News of Today."

The November meeting will be held at Delmonico's.

Laureate Alpha Rho

Dorothy Miles was hostess for the recent meeting of Laureate Alpha Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

Miles presented the program on "River Cruising Through France."

It was decided to grant a member-at-large status to Rudell Childers because of illness.

The group will meet and have lunch Nov. 7 at In The Wine Cellar. Pat Taylor will be hostess.
