Cape Girardeau County FCE

Members of Cape Girardeau County FCE attended the FCE national conference held July 23 through 26 in Blue Springs, Missouri. Among those attending were Mary Klaproth, Missouri state secretary, and JoAn Hahs, Southeast District director.

The theme of the conference was Stepping Stones to Success.

Missouri chapters received a second place award in education and a third place award in action.

Conference attendees were offered FCL training on leadership, mentoring, issue and analysis and team building.

Three new Hearth Fires were introduced: No. 59, Advance Directives - Do I want/need them?; No. 60, Someone's asking ... What is maternal health?; and No. 61, Hope on the Horizon.

Kristy Childs of Kansas City, a victim of human trafficking, was keynote speaker. Members brought items for Veronica's Voice which helps victims of human trafficking.

The next conference will be July 14 through 17, 2016, in Memphis, Tennessee.
