St. Mary's CCW
St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women met Aug. 15 in Maria Haus.
Opal Scherer, Lawana Wulfers, Celeste Nenninger and Dolores Pobst participated in the Christmas craft show-and-tell by giving ideas for items to be made for the Christmas craft and bake sale Dec. 7 and 8.
Layette kits for infants were made and will be taken to the Church Women United awareness luncheon Sept. 27.
New members attending were Sue Harrington, Nancy Pfeiffer, Kimberly Smith and Cathy Vanderpool.
Judy Stricker announced the Missouri Catholic Conference will be held Oct. 5 in Jefferson City.
A covered-dish supper will be held prior to the Sept. 18 meeting.
Exchange Club of Cape
Dan Overbey explained the operation of SEMO Port Authority at the Aug. 6 meeting of Exchange Club of Cape Girardeau. The meeting was held at Port Cape.
It was reported that ham and beans tickets are available, and plans are being made for Stag Night Sept. 17. The club purchased 11 box fans for Salvation Army to distribute.
Ferd Sturm will chair the youth program for the coming year.
