The Town and Country FCE Club met on April 11 with Judy Niswonger serving as hostess. Niswonger gave the devotion, Jelly Bean Prayer and Candy Corn Message. The treausrer, Brenda Pender, collected pennies for "Coins for Friendship." Mary Klaproth led the Hershey Personality Test.
Darlene McCain, president, presided over the business meeting. Members received thank-you notes from the students at Parkview State School for the St. Patrick's Day Party the club provided.
Niswonger reported about All Clubs day with eight Town and Country FCE members attending.
Plans were finalized for the club's garage sale planned for May 3 and 4. If any items are left they will be donated to Teen and Adult Challenge Mid-America.
Members cleaned out the flower bed at the University of Missouri Externison Center which the club maintains on April 13.
Members brought Easter treats for Cottonwood Residential Treatment Center and the Easter treat sacks were delivered.
Members brought items for the Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry and they were delivered on April 15.
Members completed their registration and paid their money to attend the Spring District Meeting hosted by Ripley County in Doniphan, Missouri, on April 29.
Klaproth distributed copies of the FCE Today to members. She also announced scholarships are available for the National FCE Conference to be held in St. Louis at the Hotel Marriott July 18 through 21 and the MAFCE Conference to be held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, Missouri, Aug. 27 and 28.
Sue Jones presented the program on "seasoning with less sodium."
The next meeting will be hosted by Brenda Pender on May 9 at 6:30 p.m. The program will be presented by Karen Murphy on "dust mites, everything you might not want to know." Members are asked to bring four books for National Day of the Family and they will be presented to Southeast Health.
