The Riverhill Rangers 4-H Club held a shooting sports meeting Feb. 23 at the extension office in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. The club is a shooting sports club with participating members from Ste. Genevieve, Perry and Cape Girardeau counties. Project areas include hunter skills, BB gun, air rifle, small caliber rifle, shotgun, muzzle loader and archery.
Nathan Ringwald, president, presided over the meeting. The minutes and treasurer's reports were read and approved.
The T-shirt committee presented designs and colors for shirts, and they were voted on. Mottos were also voted on.
The educational booth committee had five new members join: Levi Bachmann, Casy Erstfeld, Joey Goldsmith, Nathan Lichtenegger and Adam Lichtenegger.
Old business was discussed. Gretchen Jacob mentioned the WHEP clinic and contest that will be held April 28 in Williamsburg, Mo. Congress will be held May 30 to June 31 for ages 14 and up.
Bachmann gave a demonstration on trapping. Matt Rottler, Bob Goldsmith and Darren Jacob showed two short movies on gun safety.

The New Salem United Methodist Women met in the home of Betty Hahs on April 4, with nine members present. President Shirley Grebe presided over the meeting. The purpose was read by members.
Members brought dish towels for the church kitchen.
Thank-you cards were read. Colleen Lukefahr and Verla Mangels reported on prices from different places for the openings between the fellowship hall and the kitchen.
Margie Roberts reported she had bought the flowers for the altar and the wreath for the church.
The program "Rise And Shine for Christ Is Risen" was given by Betty Henry, Penny Myers and the youth group from the church gave a report on their trip to Springfield, Mo. They also served refreshments.
